Roa Island is set in the beautiful surroundings of Morecambe Bay on the edge of the Irish Sea in South West Cumbria. We are also on the edge of the Lake District with Lake Windermere and Coniston only twenty minutes away. RIBC has been established since 1957, encompassing various types of water sports including boat fishing, dinghy and cruiser sailing / racing, windsurfing and kayaking.

With 24 hour launching facilities in Walney Channel we are blessed with some of the finest coastal sailing to be found. The club has a full racing program for both cruisers and dinghies.

We have a busy social calendar in the well equipped club house which has a large patio and barbeque complete with a fully licensed members bar offering a range of beers, wines, spirits, and soft drinks, with picnic tables on the patio which is a fine spot to view the club racing from.

The Club has approximately 250 members with 100 cruiser berths and a dinghy park.
We offer a programme of sailing activities aimed at families and children, including Junior race series, fishing competitions and cruiser racing.

RIBC is a family orientated club, with first class social activities.

Club Racing Saturday, Sunday & Weekday evenings with club boats available for use by members at a small charge to cover upkeep, there is a choice of 5 Toppers, a Laser, and a Wayfarer.
